Hampshire Sheen’s Danish Oil is food safe and compliant to EN71 toy safe when dry.
Thinner, more penetrating and less smelly that other Danish Oils, this Hampshire Sheen product contains only pure Tung Oil and no artificial varnish, resins or other vegetable oils.
The solvent used in used to aid drying is dearomatised white spirit, which is less irritating to skin and lower in odour than traditional white spirit, and is completely biodegradable.

Uses
Use on fruit and salad bowls or items requiring a more satin finish. It can, however, be buffed to a gloss after many coats.
Colour and Aroma
Translucent pale brown in the tin. It slightly darkens the wood when it is applied—characteristic aroma of solvents and waxes.
Container
Supplied in a 500ml ‘berg top’ tin bottle.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.
Longevity – Use By
Kept according to instructions, it is best used within six months after opening the product. Due to the curing nature of the product, it will thicken over time.

How to Use
Basic Application
- Sand your work down to your desired grit. Hampshire Sheen recommend 400 grit.
- Apply the oil using a paper towel or rag;
- After a few minutes, remove excess oil from the surface of the piece;
- Allow 20 minutes between coats and apply a maximum of 2 before allowing to cure;
- Leave to cure thoroughly for at least 24-48 hours before buffing and putting into use. Curing time will vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity;
- Recoat as required.
- For best results, use within 6 months of purchase.
