The Peter Child Artist’s Pyrography Machine is widely regarded as the machine of choice by many professionals.

Now made and developed by highly respected tool and machine manufacturer, Robert Sorby, this pyrography machine can help you create dense textures, patterns, line work and shading for the finest detail. It's the chosen choice across the world by many pyrographers, from beginners right through to those who are more experienced.

Features:

Fine control of heat and precise handling of the burning head, variable heat, up to 1100º C.
The pen (for handpiece) has a cool running and lightweight handle which remains comfortable even after many hours of use.
Writes quickly and as fluently as a fountain pen.
Cost effective replacement points.
The ability to shape your own points from specialist wire with the supplied fine wire, perfect for fine detailed burning. Thicker wire is available, ideal for enhancing bird or stick carving.

A robust and reliable controller unit, housed in a strong steel case, that have been used both professionally and continuously for over twenty years.

Each pyrography machine contains a pen, a metre length of medium wire gauge (25 SWG) to make your own points, six spare nickel chromium nibs (five medium points in 25 SWG and one spoon point in heavier 24 SWG) and a handy 12 page instruction manual.

"I have been using the Peter Childs pyrography machine over the last few weeks and can say I have been very impressed by it's capabilities. I really like that you can make your own tips and that the machine comes with a small booklet suggesting ideas on various tips. I have found the variable temperature marvellous and rarely go above 5 as this is excellent heat for me. The pen shape is great and does not heat up uncomfortably when I am working over an extended period of time. The price is very reasonable for this machine and the possibilities are endless. One final point. It has the mark of quality because Robert Sorby have taken on the manufacture. Brilliant!"

"I bought this pyrography machine as a birthday present for my wife. Up until now she has not used it but she will when time permits. Our daughter bought the same machine many years ago so we know how good they are, and my wife has used our daughters machine many times in the past. Our daughter is now married and has moved away, the reason for buying my wife her own Peter Child pyrography machine."

"My review is based on being new to pyography and never having used other makes to compare with the Peter Child machine. The machine looks good, and well made, the heat is controlled by a rheostat so doesn't feel as smooth as a digital controller but is ok. On and off switch light is not very bright. I found the pen to be comfortable though it does get hot using thicker wire tips, I prefer using approx 1mm wire, but fine and medium wire are ok. I would like a spare pen but at £38 Perhaps later. Woods I have used are Pine and Birch ply, the machine works well for me and I am happy with the purchase, though I would like to try other makes to compare."

"Great service, delivery took a little longer than I expected but I'm so happy I waited. The product is fantastic, well boxed and well presented. I've used a few of the soldering iron types of unit and the Peter Child machine blows them out of the water for detail and temperature control. In short it's amazing, thank you"
