Draw Knives are one of the oldest woodworking tools around and were used in many occupations from Wheelwrighting to Coopering.
In the hands of a skilled craftsman these tools can be used to create massive roughing and shaping cuts or deft finishing cuts. Nowadays they are still used in chair and cricket bat manufacture.
They are also an essential part of any green woodworkers tool kit and are frequently used to produce chair legs and spindles.
Available in two forms - flat and bent.
The bent form can be much more aggressive and gives more flexibility on a flat surface.
Designed for shaping wood and removing bark.
A simple tool which can be used either aggressively for rapid stock removal or in a very delicate manner to give a fine finish.
Mainly used on the pull stroke.
