"I bought a gold and a silver 150 mm skeleton clock insert. I was not quite sure what to expect as far as fitting was concerned. There were no fitting instructions. As this was my first attempt at a skeleton clock I referred to utube for inspiration. I discovered there are two types of fitting, one has a rubber band round the clock which means you just push it into your wood. The other has to have a surround precisely the thickness of the insert as you fit the majrity from the back and the bezel screws half a turn on the front. There are small screw holes at the back to stop the clock twisting. The gold insert proved to be the second sort so I am plucking up courage before I attempt the precision it will require. The silver one I have used to great effect although I substituted an ordinary rubber band as the hole was not quite big enough to use the very chunky rubber band. Suffice to say the rubber band method is much easier to fit so whether I will ever get the gold insert used remains to be seen. Slightly disappointed that the back glass is opaque, the silver one is clear. On reflection, I have to say skeleton clocks are a bit of a gimmick - they are quite difficult to read the time on - the hands seem to disappear. Would definitely be useful to know you are getting either the rubberband fitting or the screw type. Given a choice go for the rubber band! Little bit plasticky but otherwise a good product if you can meet it's precise requirements for fitting."
